Don´t shoot me , but I´ve heard it´s been taken over by a Brit and a Spaniard and it´t going to be the 1st restaurant ing in Algorfa offering English and Spanish food.

BUT WAIT FOR IT !!!!!!!!!!!

local talk is that it´s going to called THE YORKSHIRE PUD.

I can see the Spanish queuing as I type.

Just can´t wait as I like a good LAUGH :weirdthread: :algorfa: :dontshoot: :feedback:

I always try:- Lo siento, yo no hablo su idiomo but I've almost perfected it so I'm not believed!

Got by in a Spanish plumbers yard with:- Me no tengo una (noise & action of electric drill), me tengo una (noise & action of hammer)...everyone pee'd selves laughing. I got what was needed.

I try going outside comfort zone!

Bill, what's that to do with Alquibla? I know you link some tenuous things, but I'm scratching my head here.

Also, Brendan......actually, I think the new name is the Yorkshire Pud Inn. So a 'play' on words.

I was suggesting that if folks had a little venture out of their comfort zone, they might find a) they aren't bad at it, b) other people appreciate it, c) they're encouraged to try more/different things & d) it's more fun.

On La Marina beach La Candela resto is just a shed really. We tried it & liked it. We have to be brave & book over the phone. Now we have little bits of chats with the staff there. I was telling this bloke with his Mrs near Baybrooks about it. He went on one about me being unfair to my wife "making her" go to a shed on the beach! Made me quite angry & mt wife livid!

If people have a go, it's more fun!?

I have some sympathy with Brendan's comments.I speak Spanish quite well and ,like Bill,I eat at many Spanish restaurants in the town and the surrounding area.I even eat at a British one now and then.I think what Brendan means is that the name is not very inventive and is more representative of Benidorm than a "typical small Spanish town."I know both the owners of the new Y.P.I. and have wished them well in their venture. What they choose to call it is none of my business.
