Moving on.....

Postby Jennifer » 06 Jul 2016 19:05

A Time for Everything
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

And a time for forums to have new administrators.

This time is now on our forum! We're in the process of selling our house in Algorfa, so it's time for us to move on.

The Algorfa forum has been going since Sept 2006, not quite done 10 years.

So if you'd like to pick up the mantle... please do PM me. You'll need to have a little understanding of how these things work.

There is someone who has shown an interest, and presently I need to chat with them.

Will keep you all in the loop!

In the meantime, thank you all who have posted, helping others settle in this beautiful Spanish pueblo of Algorfa.

I second that !!
It will be great if someone takes over and ensures the forum carries on as it is a useful source of information.

Hi Jennifer
I look at the site on most days although we are out for only a few weeks each year.
I have found the site so very useful when looking for recommended trades people, restaurants, cars and the like.
I have also contributed on occasions and must have been amongst the original users, remembering when all we had at La Finca were banks and a vet, and relied on the web cam near the Algorfa Hotel for a top up of sunshine.
Congratulations on the web sites success.
Many thanks and wishing you all the luck in the world on your new venture,
Ken

UK out of the EU
Prime minister resigns from office
Labour leader in desperate need for MP's
Farage leaves the UKIP party
Pound is tumbling
Chief negotiator for the Junior doctor dispute resigns
And then, when it could not get any worse the Administrator of one of the most informative and friendly forums is packing up and heading off.

All I can say is many thanks for all you have done and although we may have had our disagreements during the Britex debate. Can I wish you all the best and hope there is no hard feelings.

Kind regards

Steve

PS I did wonder if Mr Farage's departure was bad news or not
:waiving: :algorfa:

Ha ha.... what's happening to the world?

Thank you Steve for your kind words. Can't remember us having any disagreements... just differences of opinion - it is a forum afterall. :algorfa:

Wishing you all the best too Steve!

Thank you Ken. Think there were 5 banks at one time on La Finca! Obviously before the crash when money was splashing about all over the place! Hope those days return soon.

Yes we did have a webcam from our roof overlooking the 'mountain'! We had to stop because aparently a camera can only be pointed within your own property. Did think of shining it on our orange bush, but thought that would be too boring ha ha. The camera gave my daughter a fright, she was visiting with her boyfriend (now husband) and they were 'entertaining' themselves on the (private) solarium - her face was a picture when I mentioned quite innocently about the live camera. Her face had a look of sheer horror, then I realised she thought she'd been filmed. Remembering her shocked face still tickles me.
