Just wondered if anyone has done the journey out to Corvera Airport which I believe is to open in Feb 2019 ? It's obviously a longer journey but looking at the map I can't figure out the best/easiest route to Algorfa .
Sad that San Javier is to close:(
Cheers

Re: New airport
Simples don't use it takes about an hour from Algorfa, sorry no-brainer. It is not very well signed and you turn off before you get to San Javier airport turn then head towards Murcia on the RM19 lots of speed cameras. I for one will not be using it no matter how cheap the flights are.

Thanks Iceman...the answer I was kind of expecting but hoping to be proven wrong

Re: New airport
Yes it would be a pain in the backside to get to compared to Alicnate but may be useful for international flights once it takes off!

Re: New airport
Hi sorry to disappoint you but there will not be any international flights going out of the new airport as they have lengthened the runways at Alicant for some years now for international flights. The new airport does not have a long enough runway.

Re: New airport
The runway's plenty long enough. EasyJet, among others, have already said they'll transfer their flights from San Javier to Corvera.

Re: New airport
Both airports have a runway length of 3000m which can easily handle a 747
